I like building things, and understanding what makes them work.

I’m a Computer Science Engineering student exploring AI systems, backend engineering and product development. From building a vector database in C++ to shipping full-stack applications, I turn technical curiosity into working software.

01 · About

Beneath the surface, then up to the interface.

I’m a Computer Science undergraduate with a strong interest in AI systems and software engineering. I like moving past tutorials and existing abstractions to see how things work internally, whether that means implementing search algorithms, building retrieval pipelines, designing APIs or developing a complete application.

I’m most interested in the space where intelligent systems meet practical software, and in making things people can actually use.

I don’t expect to know everything before I start. I’m comfortable entering unfamiliar territory, learning the concepts I need, and figuring things out through experiments and iteration.

VectorDB: a vector database engine built from scratch

An exploration of vector search from the ground up: implementing search structures, comparing retrieval strategies, and connecting semantic retrieval to a locally hosted language model.

  • C++
  • HNSW
  • KD-Tree
  • Brute-force K-NN
  • REST APIs
  • Ollama
  • RAG
  • Semantic embeddings
  • Implemented HNSW, KD-Tree and brute-force nearest-neighbor search.
  • Supports cosine, Euclidean and Manhattan distance.
  • HNSW uses multilayer graphs, greedy navigation, beam search and bidirectional neighbor connections.
  • 768-dimensional semantic pipeline with Ollama’s nomic-embed-text, plus document chunking.
  • Retrieved chunks feed a locally hosted Llama 3.2 model for grounded RAG answers.
  • REST APIs and benchmarking infrastructure to compare latency and accuracy.

Conceptual illustration with random points, not live data or measured results.

Case study: trade-offs and decisions

Problem

How can high-dimensional vector search be implemented and compared without relying entirely on an existing vector database?

Approach

Build the underlying search mechanisms, compare exact and approximate retrieval strategies, and connect the retrieval layer to a working semantic search and RAG pipeline.

Engineering decisions

  • Distance metrics shape what “near” means for a given embedding space.
  • Embeddings turn text into vectors; chunking decides what gets retrieved.
  • Grounded generation passes retrieved chunks to the LLM as context.
StrategyIdeaTrade-off
Brute forceCompare the query against every vector.Exact results; cost grows with dataset size.
KD-TreePartition space with axis-aligned splits and prune branches.Efficient in low dimensions; pruning weakens as dimensions grow.
HNSWNavigate a layered proximity graph from coarse to fine.Approximate results, fast search; index construction and tuning cost.

Benchmark results are intentionally not reproduced here until real measurements are added. The live demo is the place to explore the system.

MediMeet: full-stack healthcare consultation platform

A full-stack consultation platform designed around distinct patient, therapist and administrator workflows, combining appointment management, role-based access and real-time video consultations.

  • Next.js
  • React
  • Tailwind CSS
  • Clerk
  • Prisma ORM
  • PostgreSQL
  • Vonage Video API
  • Dedicated patient, therapist and administrator workflows.
  • Authentication and role-based authorization with Clerk.
  • Relational data models and CRUD operations with Prisma and PostgreSQL.
  • Appointment management, therapist verification and admin operations.
  • Vonage Video API integration for real-time consultations.

A portfolio project. It is not a clinically validated system and has no healthcare-provider adoption.

Case study

Problem

Healthcare consultation workflows need coordinated experiences for different user roles.

Solution

A unified platform that organizes appointments, role-specific workflows and video consultations.

Engineering focus

Authentication, authorization, relational data modeling, frontend architecture, external API integration and end-to-end development.

Hackathon project

Pricing Consequence Agent

Agentic AI · Decision support · Memory

An agent that analyzes pricing proposals using remembered patterns and previous outcomes, so future recommendations can be more informed by past decisions. My role: agent and backend engineer, with Laxmi (lead), Midhat and Neha.

  • Agent response flow around a pricing proposal.
  • Similar-experience recall and pattern reflection via a memory service abstraction.
  • Structured outputs for responses, evidence, patterns and contradictions.
  • APIs to ask, submit outcomes and fetch history; relevance thresholds, error handling, tests.

Python · FastAPI · Groq · Hindsight-style memory

No claim of better pricing decisions without measured evidence. Some integration and deployment work remains incomplete.

Experimental

arXiv Paper Digest & QA Agent

AI agents · Research automation · Retrieval

A research-oriented workflow that retrieves arXiv papers, ranks candidates, extracts content, summarizes it and supports question answering.

Query understanding → retrieval → ranking → parsing → chunk & embed → summary → Q&A

  • Query broadening and retrieval retry.
  • Candidate ranking and degraded-mode parsing.
  • Chunking, embedding, and structured briefing and score models.

Groq API · Chroma · graph-based orchestration

Not evaluated for research accuracy; some features are still experimental.

Workshop prototype

Mastery Desk

Multi-agent AI experiment

A prototype from a multi-agent AI workshop: five specialized agents, two voice-oriented and three back-office, including a Google Calendar practice-session workflow and plan-related email generation.

An experiment, not a commercial product. Screenshots and links will be added once verified.
